DWG Import for Alibre Design is an AutoCAD DWG file import add-on for Alibre Design®. It gives Alibre Design the ability to import solid objects from AutoCAD DWG files as solids models in Alibre Design.

Alibre Design already has an AutoCAD DWG import feature. However, this import feature creates a 2D drawing in Alibre Design by reading 2d geometric objects such as curves and ignores 3d solids. DWG Import for Alibre Design removes this limitation by giving Alibre Design the ability to read 3d solid geometric data such as ACIS 3d solids, bodies and regions in an AutoCAD DWG file and create corresponding 3d solid models in an Alibre Design part document.

DWG Import for Alibre Design is very easy to use. It adds new commands to Alibre Design. Once installed, it automatically loads itself into Alibre Design and adds a new submenu called "DWGImport" to the Alibre Design menu containing these newly added commands.

DWG Import for Alibre Design adds a new menu to Alibre Design called 'DWGImport'. The 'DWGImport' menu consists of the following commands:
Import - Imports a DWG file
Help - Displays the DWG Import for Alibre Design help file
Register - Registers your copy of DWG Import for Alibre Design
About - Displays the DWG Import for Alibre Design about box

DWG Import for Alibre Design comes with detailed documentation for each command as well as a tutorial to get you started in the shortest possible time.
