Overview

ZOC Terminal V7 (SSH and Telnet Client) is a terminal emulator, SSH and Telnet client. It has an interface that is tabbed for multiple sessions, maintains command history and has thumbnail previews.

The software can be used as a replacement terminal emulator to enter command line entries in place of the Terminal program that comes with Windows. The terminal emulation extends to Xterm, vt102, vt220, a number of ANSI versions, plus Wyse, TVI, TN5250, TN3270, TTY and CDE.

There are SSH and SS2 features ensure a secure connection to be made in order to send files safely from one location to another.

The Telnet client includes all the usual Telnet command expected in such a package. Telnet support includes RFC-Telnet, pure TCP sockets, plus secure SSL-Telnet with support for the TLS 1.2 version.

Several file transfer protocols are also supported including Zmodem, Z-, Y-, Zmodem, SCP and Kermit.

The latest IPv6 support is included for both secure SSH and Telnet protocols.

The software is available for Windows and OS X.

Installation

The installation completed without any issues.

There was no adware, spyware or malware included with the install package.

Interface

The interface has a lengthy menu system with top-level options for File, Edit, View, Logging, Transfer, Script, Options, and Help. There is also a toolbar with a row of toolbar buttons to choose from.

Below the toolbar is the tabbed interface where each open console is shown and selectable.

Depending on the type of tab opened, quick options appear below the tabbed heading.

Alternatives

PuTTY is a Telnet, SSH and Rlogin client which offers a good mix of the main console facilities needed by busy administrators. More similar software include Xshell and MobaXterm.

Requirements: 32-bit or 64-bit Windows platform or Mac OS X 10.6 (Intel) or higher.
