MSS is a Windows application. It is an editor that stabilizes video files. Its goal is to ?fix manual errors manually?. Many (if not most) of videos taken with telephoto lenses and without a tripod are spoiled so much that it is simply impossible to fix them with the fully automated software. Sometimes the object which should be stabilized is in the background, and some annoying objects in the foreground, such as moving cars, people or branches do not allow solving the problem automatically. MSS is for such complex tasks. Before editing the movie should be taken apart into separate frames. The reference point in each frame should be chosen manually and then the program makes all necessary actions automatically. After editing the frames should be reassembled into the movie file.
Features:
The program has a simple, informative and user friendly interface. It provides the user with a set of clear, step-by-step instructions. The video can be edited manually on the basic level, frame by frame. The Space Calculator makes it possible to find the minimum space for the project folder. The magnifying glass is a square box that scales up a fragment under cursor from 2 to 10 times. Using the magnifying glass makes the work considerably easier. 1, 2, 3 or 4 point mode editing enables the marking of well visible corners of the object instead of guessing where its center is.
How does it work?
To remove the shaking, it is important to choose the object that should be stable during the fragment of the video. The choice of the object is crucial to obtaining the final result. The reference point is a pixel that belongs to the object in all frames and should be well visible. By defining this point in each consecutive frame, the program is informed how the object should be pinned. It can be a real pixel or a virtual one determined by 2, 3 or 4 reference points.
The jumping object will appear stable in the final video because the frame will shake around the pinned point...
