Overview

AVS Video ReMaker is a video editor for working with HD video content, AVCHD-, MTS/M2TS, MOD- and other Blu-Ray content, plus AVI video files too. Video DVD files, MPEG 1 and MPEG 2 are also supported formats.

There is a timeline where clips can be edited together while preserving the quality in a lossless manner. Edit recordings quickly from camcorders, web cameras, video cameras and other video recording methods.

Video preview is built into the package, with transition effects and other modern digital editing techniques available to the user.

The package can record video directly from screen capture and then edit them into a seamless piece of instructional video, demos, and more.

The software is ideal for creating new DVDs for commercial release or putting together new YouTube videos to develop a following via a YouTube channel.

Installation

The package requires 106.3 MB of available space to install the program. The installation completed without any issues.

The software has a warning when first running that until activated it will only process five minutes of video content.

There was no adware, toolbar or malicious software included with the distribution.

AVS Video ReMaker requires Windows 8.1, 8, 7, XP, 2003 or Vista (32-bit of 64-bit supported). No Mac or Linux versions are available.

Interface

The interface of AVS Video ReMaker is quite typical of this type of application.

There is a menu at the top with options for File, Edit, Chapters and Help. There are labels below this for File List and Imported Files.

Buttons are present on the left side below the File List label for Add File, Record Video, Capture Screen and Clear.

Files can be dragged into the white square area marketed as a target with the Imported Files heading above it.

To the far right is the playback window with playback controls directly below it. Editing controls to the left of the playback window include large buttons for File List, Transitions, Chapters, Disc Menu, and Remake Now. Control buttons to Split, Delete, Move forward or back, or Trim are also shown.

At the bottom is the playback timeline window where video clips can be edited together visually.
