"Convert and burn any video files to DVD."
Burning DVDs can be a major pain if you don't have the right software, and sometimes this can result in users having to download multiple programs just to do it. This is usually caused by compatibility issues with certain file formats, which is why people need to download conversion tools. However, ConvertXtoDVD has become well-known for it's one-click burning/conversion, and rightfully so -- this is the only program you'll need for creating high quality DVDs. There's an extensive list of features, including several different DVD menu templates to choose from, and various settings that users can tweak for quality and processing time.
ConvertXtoDVD offers a very basic installation, simply download the setup and follow the wizard. There's no bundled software or registration required, but you will be asked if you want to continue your evaluation or purchase the software every time you open it (until you do purchase it or the trial expires).
I've been a long time user of this software, and the Interface has definitely improved in the most recent versions. Although it has always been relatively easy to use, it has never been as attractive as it is now. The sleek, modernized UI is welcomed, and fortunately, the ease of access has remained the same -- if not improved upon. Getting started is so simple, just drag the file or files you want to put on the DVD into the ConvertXtoDVD interface. From there, you can just click Convert and walk away, or pick out a custom menu, as well as edit the settings on the right-hand menu. Chapter settings, additional audio, subtitles, and more can be accessed on the main screen, and more intricate settings are available via the main menu.
The simplicity factor is the biggest pro for this software, a lot of basic PC users are intimidated by most DVD burning software, but that shouldn't be the case with ConvertXtoDVD. There's even some really useful tips and tutorials available from the Help/Tools menu. Supported several file extensions is also crucial, and ConvertXtoDVD delivers in this area as well -- it is compatible with MPG, MPEG, AVI, WMV, MOV, and quite a few others. Lightning fast conversion and burning speeds are a plug as well, I have yet to encounter a program that is faster than this one.
I have yet to encounter any errors, or anything I didn't like, with the newest version of this software. Older versions did seem to crash frequently, or have glitchy exports, but this version has been working flawlessly. Since users are able to tweak so many settings, it's hard to find any improvements that could even be made, except for maybe a price drop.
A very similar program, is Wondershare Video Converter Ultimate, which offers an extremely similar interface, as well as features (a bit more expensive as well). Free Easy CD DVD Burner is a program that offers the bare minimum, but at no cost. And of course there's Nero Burning ROM 2014, Nero has been a major competitor in the media burning industry for many years.
When you have something that is not only fast and effective, but combines two (sometimes lengthy) processes into one single click, there's nothing to complain about. ConvertXtoDVD is a fantastic program that you'll be glad you decided to try out.
What's new in this version: fixes some Blu-ray's as ISO don't open, fixes conversion stops at around 90% sometimes during menu encoding, fixes app freezes if minimized when finished, fixes audio sync issues and includes other corrections and improvements
