Overview

Simplitec Power Suite FREE is bundle of three utilities: simplifast, simpliclean, and simplisafe.

Simplifast is a system optimization utility that can reduce the number of startup programs slowing up the Windows booting process, run a hard drive defragmentation to relocate file fragments closer together to load files faster, optimize Windows services to disable the ones that are not needed, and tweak how Windows connects to the internet to improve internet access speeds.

Simpliclean is a Windows cleaner which can scan the Windows registry, clean the registry of old and invalid entries which could be causing problems, reduce energy consumption, and shred files so they can never be recovered in the future.

Simplisafe is an improvement utility that can wipe the internet browsing history, scan for and update outdated software drivers, scan for and update software, and recover deleted files that have not been overwritten.

Installation

The software installs in a snap. It does offer to send data anonymously to the simplitec servers to “improve simplitec products” which can be opted out of. No adware, toolbar or malware was added during the setup process. The software requires Windows XP, Vista, 7 or 8.

Interface

Upon first launching the software, the package lets the user choose the 30 day trial period.

It then immediately begins a scan with the Simplifast utility. A progress bar is shown. To the right is a large “Cancel” button, and a tiny “Show Details” link below to expand out to see exactly what the software is scanning at that time.

The Simpliclean utility then starts up and does the same thing. Followed by the Simplisafe utility after that.

What is a bit disconcerting is that the software performs its scan without first seeking and receiving approval from the user. Once the scanning is completed, the “Cancel” button changes to a “Fix Errors” button to the right of each utility type. The user can expand out the “Show Details” link below this button, in each case, to see exactly what the utility found that needs fixing. Information (I) icons and other hover-ready elements can provide more explanation of each feature before going ahead.
