We had no doubt that this energy shot would deliver after using many of their products in the past, but how would it taste? The packaging shows fresh fruit around the base and cap, which leads us to believe this may actually taste good too, although many energy shots simply cram so many ingredients that the flavor becomes more of an afterthought. Feed Entry Content P : This energy shot had a very faint peach aroma,which led us to believe the taste may be pleasant as well. We were wrong. As the drink first hits your mouth you get a sweet, slightly odd texture, followed by a decent but fake mostly peach flavor. The energy shot isn’t bad up until the powerful aftertaste of artificial sweeteners hit you. It is quite harsh. The flavor fake fruit flavor makes sense, as it contains no fruit juice. The texture, while at first thought feels syrupy, may be due to the inclusion of glycerin as the second ingredient. It is a colorless, odorless, viscous liquid that is widely used in pharmaceutical formulations. Glycerin is sweet-tasting and of low toxicity.

Feed Entry Content P : The energy shot bottle is a little larger than other energy shots at 2.5oz. It has a well designed label showing appetizing peaches and mangoes. The label says to start off by consuming a 1/4 serving… yeah right. Redline Power Rush’s website is separate from the standard VPX Sports site. It is an outstanding site, filled with great professional graphics, functionality, and all the info you need on the products.

Feed Entry Content P : Three words, cherry pixy stix. That is exactly what AMP Overdrive tastes like. The sweetness level on this drink is so high that it detracts from the pretty good cherry flavor. Many energy drink manufacturers flirt with this hard-to-master cherry flavor quite often, but usually fall short. It usually just ends up tasting like carbonated cherry cough syrup. AMP has done a nice job on the flavor, we just wished they could have dialed down that ridiculous sweetness. We debated the taste score. It was between a 6.5 and 7, first penalizing for the over sweetness, but instead we decided to round up the score for the cherry flavoring.

This brand simply doesn’t contain the necessary high enough levels of energy supplements to offer you a significant energy increase. Amp Overdrive concentrates on providing you more energy. The words “turbo boost” are on the can below the name, and underneath that, is yerba mate. Yerba Mate, used since ancient times as a tea, is renowned throughout South America for its rejuvenating, nutritional, and energizing effects, particularly for mental and physical fatigue. While most dietary supplements contain around 600mg of yerba mate, AMP Overdrive only contains 16mg, so we don’t think you be do anything at turbo boosted speeds. There is also the low levels of taurine and sub-par 160mg of caffeine.

Feed Entry Content P : If you can imagine a syrupy, carbonated, citrus drink that is actually sweeter than Mountain Dew, you know what AMP original tastes like. Although it does taste vaguely similar to the Dew, is does differ enough to be a unique flavor. We did like the addition of melon flavor to the finish. AMP energy drinks in general are just too sweet, but the decent flavorings help keep up their scores. The AMP original energy drink has 220 calories and 58 grams of sugar for the entire can, coming mainly from the inferior high fructose corn syrup sweeteners.

Feed Entry Content P : Energy Drink U was disappointed with the energy levels from AMP Traction. This brand simply doesn’t contain the necessary high enough levels of energy supplements to offer you a significant energy increase. Amp Traction concentrates on endurance. The word “maintain” is on the can below the name, beneath that, maltodextrin and d-ribose appear. Maltodextrin is just another easily digestible form of sugar made from a starch offering little to no energy. D-ribose is often marketed as a supplement for bodybuilders with a common recommended daily dose being almost 5 grams. Some studies have found no evidence that there is a benefit, while others have found increased endurance, recovery, muscle output, and reduce fatigue in healthy individuals. AMP Traction only contains 144mg of D-ribose, so we don’t think you be running or lifting any more than normal. There is also the low levels of taurine and sub-par 160mg of caffeine.

Feed Entry Content P Span Span : This energy drink had a very pleasant flavor, it was still very sweet as most AMP energy drinks are, but it wasn’t as syrupy as some of the others. It definitely had a lighter consistency than we had expected. The can says that the flavor is mixed berry but we were reminded of a classic flavor from childhood, blue raspberry. That typical flavor you got from any candy or drink that was that bright blue color. The flavor reminded me most of the freeze pops everyone had in their freezer as kids. AMP Elevate tasted just like the blue ones. Blue raspberry is one of those sometimes good, but always fake flavors that you typically get in kids snacks.
