Its nutrition analysis automatically calculates the unique Atkins Net Carbs values (of over 8,000 food items) to help you stay on the Atkins diet. Whether you are in the Atkins Induction Phase, Ongoing Weight Loss, Pre-Maintenance, or Lifetime Maintenance Phase, you can maximize the benefits of your Atkins diet only by removing the uncertainty of guesswork from your daily nutrition. An example: in your Ongoing Weight Loss Phase, you add just 5 grams of Net Carbs per day in weekly increments until weight loss ceases. Five grams of anything is just over one-sixth of an ounce! If you inaccurately guess your Net Carbs consumption, you might think that you are on the Atkins diet but, in fact, you are not.

In addition, since Glycemic Index (GI) is a main component of the Atkins diet, NutriGenie Atkins for Life Diet software provides the GI ratings (low, medium or high) for over 2,500 commonly used food items in its database. This is the most comprehensive GI rating compilation available in any software product. We aggregate GI measurements from the most authoritative sources and normalize the ratings into 3 categories: low, medium and high. Users can assign and modify the ratings for any foods in the NutriGenie database or in their own database. With a single command, the user can see all foods in the appropriate GI category for selection. Menu planning using desirable GI foods has never been easier. NutriGenie Atkins Diet software is the only software that can analyze your diet and tell you precisely its calorie percentage from low, medium or high GI foods. This is the most meaningful way to assess the GI of one's nutrition.

The new automatic Weight Projection feature takes into account every bite of food you eat and projects your future weight a week or a month away.
