Space Exploration: Serpens Sector dev 9 Publisher's description
Space exploration is an upcoming RPG by Metal Beetle Ltd. It's a work in progress, but you can download a development preview now. In SE, you are tasked with charting the long-abandoned Serpens Sector, a region of space reached through a wormhole near Earth. Each star system you visit brings you an encounter with something - ancient ruins, other humans and many dangers. The map and encounters are chosen at random for each game, which means that each game plays out differently. The intention is to release the base game for free, and create expansion packs for sale.
Requirements: Java 1.5 or later, 800x600 screen
What's new in this version: Each crew member now has their own name and set of skills. Your crew's skills and mood can now affect the outcome of encounters, and the options you have.
The other big change is that the time limit has been removed. Instead, you now receive more limited fuel at the start of the game, and have to periodically report back to base to ask for more fuel. Your performance in the game so far affects how much extra fuel you are granted.
Beyond that, I've fixed various GUI/performance issues and bugs, and written a new tutorial.
