The VIA DriveStation™ V-RAID Controller is featured in the VT8237 South Bridge featured on the following chipsets:

* KT600 (please check your mainboard manual. Some earlier KT600 chipsets shipped with VT8235 South Bridge instead)

* K8M800
* K8T890
* PT800
* PT880

If you are not sure what South Bridge chip is featured on your motherboard, please check your manual.

The VT6410, VT6420 and VT6421 Serial RAID controllers also utilize the same driver package. These instructions apply to VT8237, VT6420 and VT6421. For VT6410, which is an IDE RAID controller, use ATA HDDs, install Windows, install the VIA RAID driver and use the V-RAID tool to configure your RAID array.

Before installing version 410a of VIA DriveStation Advanced Controller Suite for Windows make sure this is the latest version available and that it works with your current operating system and device model. If the driver contains release notes ("readme" files) proceed with reading them first. Second recommended step is creating a restore point to help you later on in case you install the wrong device driver. Note that some drivers will work instantly after installing them, but others will require a system restart in order to function properly.
