Users of video capture devices should install this update after installing the DirectX 8.0 or 8.0a runtime. Video capture devices include:
TV tuner and video capture cards/peripherals (AGP, PCI, USB, or IEEE 1394).
Digital Video (DV) devices connected to OHCI-compliant IEEE 1394 ports.
Before installing version 8.0 of Video Capture Update for DirectX for Windows make sure this is the latest version available and that it works with your current operating system and device model. If the driver contains release notes ("readme" files) proceed with reading them first. Second recommended step is creating a restore point to help you later on in case you install the wrong device driver.
