This web update is designed to update English versions of Easy CD Creator 5.xx Platinum to version 5.1. It can be installed in All Windows Operating Systems. It has some fixes and adds new drive support, including support for DVD -R/RW. It does not support DVD+R, however Direct CD will support DVD+RW. This update will install Windows XP specific drivers and make the necessary registry entries to allow Easy CD Creator to operate correctly in Windows XP.

Note: If after the installation of Easy CD Creator in Windows 2000 or Windows XP you receive a "Blue Screen" on reboot, boot into "Safe Mode" and install the update to Easy CD Creator 5.1

Note: In Windows XP or Windows 2000, if you have modified the installation of Easy CD Creator and are having trouble booting, boot to "Last Known Good" and uninstall the software. Reboot and Reinstall Easy CD Creator, do a custom install to add the specific applications that you want (without Take Two), and before rebooting run the 5.1 update then reboot.

Note: The 5.1 upgrade will remove Take Two® from all Windows OS's. When the 5.1 upgrade is available for Easy CD Creator® and if you upgrade from version 5.0x to 5.1 this feature will be removed. The final release of Easy CD Creator® 5.1 will no longer include Take Two®. Take Two® is a backup program that was included in Easy CD Creator® 4 Deluxe and Easy CD Creator® 5 Platinum prior to the 5.1 release. For more information on why Take Two was removed click here.

Note: If you modify the installation of Easy CD Creator after it is installed and working in Windows XP, you should reapply the 5.1 update.

Before installing version 5.1 of Easy CD 5.xx Platinum to (Update for Windows make sure this is the latest version available and that it works with your current operating system and device model. If the driver contains release notes ("readme" files) proceed with reading them first. Second recommended step is creating a restore point to help you later on in case you install the wrong device driver. Note that some drivers will work instantly after installing them, but others will require a system restart in order to function properly.

As an alternative, you can simplify the process of installing the latest versions for your drivers by using a program to scan all your drivers and compare them with the latest available versions from the manufacturers. We recommend Driver Scanner from Uniblue for such a task. Download it and run a free driver scan here.
