From the developer: "SoftEject is a hip and convenient software that helps you to protect your CDROM Eject Key. And it is not a memory-resident program. Click SoftEject Icon -> CDROM Open -> Click 'OK' Button-> CDROM Close and SoftEject is Quit (exit from memory). Drag the SoftEject shortcut from the Start Menu, and drop to Quick Launch Bar (in System State Bar). So you can Open and Close the CDROM simple and convenient."

Before installing version 1.0 of SoftEject for Windows make sure this is the latest version available and that it works with your current operating system and device model. If the driver contains release notes ("readme" files) proceed with reading them first. Second recommended step is creating a restore point to help you later on in case you install the wrong device driver. Note that some drivers will work instantly after installing them, but others will require a system restart in order to function properly.
