It is derived basically from the Line of balance technique with some modifications to allow for the non repetitive models that is characteristic of the majority of construction projects. Analytical comparison of possible alternatives in respect additional costs, likely to be incurred, as proportion of the most economic alternative. Optimization of performance rates for each alternative. Start and Finish dates for each crew on site that ensures a continuation of work flow. A due consideration of days off.
