CutePDF Writer is a small software that can encode any printable document to a PDF file.

So, if you want to convert a particular file to a PDF document (e.g. text, image) but don't want to search for multiple freebies for each format type, then you'll definitely get a kick out of CutePDF Writer.

Since this is an ad-supported application, CutePDF Writer offers to download and install a toolbar that it doesn't need to fully function, as well as make some changes to your web browsers.

Once you have installed the application, you can access it by initiating the printing option in a program that supports it.

By selecting "Properties", you can configure page layout, such as orientation ("Portrait" or "Landscape"), page order (front to back, back to front) and page format (set number of pages per sheet and optionally enable border drawing), as well as page quality (colored or black and white).

Once you have pressed the "OK" button, you can choose the name and destination of your output file, and finally view your newly created PDF.

The program uses a very low amount of system resources (which you cannot even observe, since it is integrated into the printing menu) and comes with a ReadMe file that explains how to use it.

In other words, beginners shouldn't have any trouble learning how to use CutePDF Writer. The application doesn't come with advanced settings that you can configure and it requires a third-party software that you have to separately install in order to get it up and running.

All in all, CutePDF Writer does a quick and clean job at converting printable documents to PDFs, so we recommend it to all users.
