Upload your corrupt Office 2007 or Open Office file and get back the original data or text so it does not need to be retyped or re-entered, just reformatted. MS Office 2007 and Open Office files are conventionally zipped collections of mostly XML files and auxiliary media files. This service ignores both zip corruption and XML malformedness. MS Office 2007 on its own appears to be able to correct zip corruption of its respective documents, however from the errors it returns it seems to use conventional XML modules to read the internal XML parts. Almost all software for reading XML files are intolerant of XML malformedness. Even one character corruption error can cause the file to be unreadable. The software that drives the web service does not have that issue.

What's new in this version: Ability to extract text or data from corrupt Office 2007 files whose zip structure is corrupted or whose XML has become poorly formed. Change of script to allow corrupt Open Office odt, ods, odp files to be uploaded and extracted of text. Change of script to allow non-corrupt rtf and doc.
