This new version adds a programming library in the Java platform to help third-party applications create professional quality barcodes. The Java library provides capabilities to generate check characters, add barcode Human Readable Text and validate input data to meet various industry specifications. It supports the Java Development Kit 1.6 (and onwards) and works out-of-the-box with Integrated Development Environments such as Netbeans and Eclipse.

This new version also provides significant updates to the existing Excel-Add In, Crystal Reports Formulas and Image Generator. The Encoder, .Net library and Excel VBA formulas of the GS1 Databar barcode also come with capabilities to automatically detect or generate the MOD 10 check-digit.
